There are several kinds of chocolates to be given on valentine’s day:

“Honmei choko” (本命チョコ)

literally means “my one true love chocolate” which are the chocolates that you will give the one you love with romantic feelings.

They are often high quality, sophisticated designs, and more expensive.

“Giri choko” (義理チョコ)

literally translated as obligation chocolate in Japanese.

Women give these chocolates to someone(men) who want to show appreciation to.

“Gohoubi choko”(ご褒美チョコ)

Some girls also like to buy “Gohoubi choko” for themselves as a well-deserved little treat.

Happy Valentine's Day😘
